CHARGED: Two Milwaukee men, ages 18 and 20 accused in series of armed robberies

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police say two suspects arrested for their role in a series of armed robberies have been charged by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.

They are 18-year-old Alfonso Lowe and 20-year-old Terrence Rayford.

Each are charged with three counts of armed robbery and one count of first degree recklessly endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.

Police say the first armed robbery occurred last Wednesday, November 26th -- shortly before 8:00 p.m. in the 1900 block of S. Congo Street. Police say Lowe and Rayford approached a 26-year-old man and a 38-year-old man, displayed a gun, and stole property from the victims.

Less than an hour later, police say Lowe and Rayford were involved in an armed robbery in the 3700 block of S. 81st Street where they stole a 42-year-old female victim's phone and fired three shots at a male victim. That man wasn't injured.

Police found the suspect vehicle later Wednesday in the 3200 block of N. 10th Street. Inside the car, police found items stolen in the previous robberies.

Rayford, who was driving the vehicle, was taken into custody.

Lowe turned himself in to police on Friday, November 28th.

Police say these suspects are believed to be responsible for other armed robberies.
