Caledonia check fraud; police seek person who cashed stolen check

CALEDONIA, Wis. - Police are asking for the public's help to identify a person who they say cashed a stolen check at the Johnson Bank in Caledonia.

What we know:
Law enforcement says the check was stolen from a victim in Grafton – and an unknown person cashed it at the Johnson Bank on Douglas Avenue in Caledonia on the afternoon of Dec. 23, 2024.
Officials say the suspect was seen driving a 2021-2025 Jeep Cherokee with a stolen license plate of ANR-1493. The plate was stolen in Milwaukee.

Flock cameras have been checking for the stolen plate. The cameras got his in Racine, Kenosha and Milwaukee, and Ozaukee County. However, there have ben no hits recently.
