Black Friday shopping draws thousands to the malls

MILWAUKEE -- Will Black Friday eventually become Black Thursday? It's entirely possible -- based on how customers reacted to early sales offerings.

Among the hard-core shoppers surveying the deals was Ben Rivera. He felt compelled to brace the Black Friday frenzy.

"This year it almost seems like because they opened on Thursday if you didn't get there Thursday you missed out on a lot of stuff," said Rivera.

Thousands packed Southridge and Mayfair Malls looking for those special door busters. Mall managers say store incentives and mall perks kept the crowds coming.

Overall, the malls have seen a steady stream of people all day long -- and as it turns out, the extended hours have been a boost for the economy and spirits as well.
