Balloon hits power line, causes 1,500 outages in West Allis

WEST ALLIS -- About 700 people are without power in West Allis Friday evening, April 22nd.

According to We Energies, the outage started when a mylar balloon, described as a foil or metallic balloon, hit some power lines near 61st and Greenfield.

Initially, 1,500 customers lost power but only about 740 are left without power as of 10:30 p.m.

We Energies crews expect to have the power back on as soon as possible.
