$2 million put into capital fund to pay for Courthouse fire repairs

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- FOX6 News has an update on what it's costing to repair the Milwaukee County Courthouse after a fire this summer caused millions of dollars in damage.

So far, the insurance fund is paying for the fire damage. $13.5 million has been paid so far. Another $4 million check will be issued soon.

However, as workers repair the fire damage, they are discovering outdated systems and building code violations that need to be repaired.

Milwaukee County officials have put aside $2 million in a capital fund for this.

In meetings planned for Friday, March 7th and next week, contractors will give specifics on what they are recommending be done.
