Reporter

Responsibilities
Developing sources and breaking stories is what it’s all about, you MUST be able to demonstrate how you aggressively pursue relevant stories and develop exclusive content. You must be great at incorporating digital/social media content with all your stories too. The successful candidate must have strong LIVE reporting skills and the ability to communicate complex stories that our viewers can understand and use to better their lives!! You have to be a people person who can work in a TEAM environment!
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field with a minimum 3 years reporting experience in a commercial television news operation. You must have a passion for storytelling and come to our editorial meetings with great story ideas! You’ll need to exhibit strong on air skills both in the field and in studio. Executive Producer

Responsibilities

You must be able to produce fast-paced newscasts with urgency and accuracy. You have to manage your show with creativity and have a keen eye for detail. Producing is not just about television anymore – it’s about all the unique channels available to us through social networking, online and whatever else comes down the road next. Qualifications
You must have a college degree (preferably in Journalism) with a minimum of two years producing experience working at a commercial television station. Qualifications
Qualified candidate must have experience using standard broadcast non-linear editing, preferably Edius. 1 year of editing experience preferred, but not required. The ability to edit with speed, efficiency and creatively while producing high quality content is required. You must be able to demonstrate good judgement and decision making skills. You will work with producers to visually enhance information in the newscast. Assignment Editor
FOX6 News is searching for a key player to fill the vital role of Assignment Editor for our award-winning news operation. Can you juggle emails, phones, social media and police scanners? Responsibilities
You will be responsible for guiding news coverage on digital and broadcast platforms during your assigned shift. You must understand how to create and construct compelling and impactful news content. You will handle ENG and news crew deployment and coordinate live crew assignments. Because we are a multiple platform news operation with a heavy emphasis on our digital platforms, you must know how to use social media, the internet and other emerging technologies to generate news stories and news contacts. You must have the skills to post content and assign resources to a digital platform. This position assists the news producers with story research. You will monitor police and fire scanners and e-mail for potential news stories. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have a Journalism or communication degree or related experience. Previous assignment desk, associate producer or news internship experience preferred. Applicant must have excellent news judgment and understand how to use current news gathering tools for both broadcast and digital platforms. Must be organized and be able to prioritize assignments to maximize staff output. Must be able to multi-task and think logistically. Strong communication skills and commitment to the highest standards of journalism is required.

Broadcast Maintenance Engineer/Electrician
WITI is looking for an Electrician with high voltage experience that has an interest in learning RF. You will be responsible for maintaining the Transmitter and building facility. In this role, you will work with outside vendors who will service the Generator, UPS, HVAC and Transmitter Tower.
What you will do in this role
- Install, troubleshoot, configure and maintain a wide variety of television broadcast equipment including HDSDI television switching and routing equipment, audio mixing equipment, broadcast studio and ENG camera systems, robotic camera systems, MPEG encoding equipment, satellite and microwave data and distribution systems, production and master control automation equipment, wireless microphone and IFB equipment, intercom matrix equipment, etc.
- Install and configure various IT equipment including desktop PC’s, laptops, network switching infrastructure, and KVM systems
- Train end users on new systems and workflows; develop documentation, user guides, and drawings as required.
- Update broadcast systems as required to maintain high InfoSec security standards
- Patch and update broadcast operating systems and applications as required for life cycle maintenance and security best practices
- Assist with maintenance of the transmitter and transmitter site.
- Assist with cable management where required.
Required qualifications and experience
- IT knowledge, including working knowledge of networking, PC/server hardware, SSH/Telnet CLI access via Putty, etc.
- Windows OS knowledge (Windows 10, Windows Server OS versions)
- The ability to learn new systems quickly and embrace new technology.
- Ability to interface remotely with internal Fox personnel or outside vendor support to resolve technical issues quickly
- The ability to successfully interface with Engineering Team members and other station staff to maintain Fox6‘s positive work environment.
- Basic RF knowledge
- Basic electrical knowledge
- The ability to work outdoors, lift heavy objects, climb ladders and bend over/kneel to perform various equipment and cable installation tasks
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid Driver’s license is required

- SDI video knowledge and experience
- MPEG Encoding/streaming experience (MPE 2, 4, HEVC, etc.) and ASI/TSOIP installation and troubleshooting
- Experience with studio/ENG cameras, robotic camera systems
- Audio/mixing system Experience including Dante/AES 67 audio networking, mixing, and distribution
- Mac and/or Linux knowledge
- Data/Video/Audio fiber distribution and troubleshooting
- VMWare and Cisco switch knowledge
- Soldering and cable assembly skills (coax, XLR, Ethernet)
- Light construction skills for various installation projects
- SBE Certification
- IT or Electronics certificate and/or AS Degree

What you'll do
- FOX6 has significant advertising opportunity on multiple platforms. It is the role of the Account Executive to listen, prepare, present and close business with a consultative approach.
- Identify and present integrated marketing solutions to variety of local businesses in a variety of fields – retailers, healthcare, automotive, home improvement, financial, entertainment, legal and more.
- Prospect for new accounts – make cold/warm calls to secure needs analysis meetings and peak businesses interest with all the exciting programs and products we have to offer
- Research accounts and the marketplace on a consistent basis.
- Work with variety of internal departments -- Creative Services on commercial production, Traffic department on advertising copy traffic, Finance department on invoicing, discrepancies, collection issues, and sales support personnel who will assist with the fulfillment of your TV and digital campaigns.
What you'll have
As a FOX6 Media Account Executive, you must be passionate about collaborating with local business owners. Being personable with excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential in your success. You must be detail oriented and organized to stay on top of clients’ needs. Being proficient with MS Office is necessary. An understanding of core marketing principles is vital to provide targeted solutions to your clients. You must have a strong desire to work in the field (not sitting in an office) to meet with clients, discover their needs and present a strong marketing plan that will help clients reach their goals. A basic understanding of digital products – display, mobile, email, video, search, native, contesting and social is preferred, not necessary. A four-year college degree and prior sales experience is desired.
