Morning rain and thunderstorms before a lull mid-day. Another round of storms is likely this afternoon and again this evening. Storms in the later day have a better chance of being strong and possibly severe. The greatest threats will be straight line wind damage and large hail but tornadoes are possible. Snow follows this system Saturday morning but we should clear to partly sunny but Saturday afternoon and return to seasonal conditions by Sunday. We remain slightly above average for early next week but continue the more active pattern.

A chilly start to our day but as a warm front moves our way today and tonight, we warm up very efficiently. Temperatures will warm from the teens and 20s this morning into the mid to upper 40s overnight. As the warm front moves in, we may see some wintry mix later this evening before transitioning to rain and a chance for thunderstorms overnight and through the day on Friday.

WMO: Fiona, Ian join list of retired hurricane names

There will be no more hurricanes named Fiona and Ian, according to officials with the World Meteorological Organization, after last year's hurricane season that wreaked havoc on various communities in the Caribbean, the U.S., and Canada.

High pressure will clear out clouds and keep temperatures cool this afternoon. Highs will be in the low to mid 30s with wind chills in the upper 20s. A warm front tomorrow will continue to warm temperatures heading into Thursday night. We could experience the upper 40s by Friday morning and continue into the 60s by Friday afternoon. Strong to severe storms are possible heading into Friday afternoon and early evening. Behind this system will be a mix of rain and snow for the start of Saturday.

A cold front clears our area early this morning with a quick burst of snow. High pressure builds in behind that front and we clear to full sun for the afternoon. Highs today will be in the mid 30s and temperatures fall to the teens and low 20s overnight. A warmup begins tomorrow with high temperatures for the day likely occurring just before midnight. We continue to warm overnight and get into the 60s by Friday. A brief period of wintry mix is possible Thursday before we warm enough for all rain into Friday. There may be enough instability for strong to severe storms on Friday.

Partly cloudy this morning but clearing by this afternoon. We should warm into the mid 40s today. Overnight a low moves through with light snow likely. Around 1" is likely in most areas but the timing of this snow may cause issues as it will arrive during the morning commute. We clear out again Wednesday afternoon but rain and snow return early Thursday. As we warm up on Thursday we transition to all rain. Rain continues into Friday with a chance for thunderstorms. Strong storms are possible.
