63-year-old man arrested for allegedly smoking crack on MCTS bus

BROWN DEER -- Brown Deer police arrested a man for allegedly smoking crack on a Milwaukee County Transit System bus.It happened Monday, October 30th.According to police, the bus driver called police and reported a passenger was smoking crack.Police arrested a 63-year-old man who was in possession of a crack pipe.He was booked, cited and released and a report was filed.

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee County Transit System bus driver is being praised for her great work in finding and helping a lost child.Karen Martinez was driving her bus route early Monday morning, October 9th, when she found a lost 5-year-old boy near the area of 84th and Lancaster just before 7:00 a.m..The young boy was cold and had no shoes or socks on.MCTS said Martinez brought him inside the bus to warm up as they waited for police to arrive.In the video, you can see a passenger on the bus helped by offering the young boy their coat to keep him warm.According to a MCTS Facebook post, investigators say the 5-year-old has been reunited with his family, thanks to Martinez.Officials said this is the fifth time in the past year that an MCTS bus driver has found lost children.

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) bus was struck by gunfire on King Drive near Locust on Friday night, May 5th, a spokesperson with MCTS said."Two groups of people outside the bus, who had nothing to do with the bus, shot at each other, towards each other, and our bus was hit once with a bullet that went through the windshield," Brendan Conway, MCTS spokesman said.There were four passengers on board, five people including the driver, and no one was hurt.After the bus stopped, Conway said all of the passengers disembarked and left the scene.Milwaukee police are investigating this incident.
