Firefighters hand out smoke detectors after toddler dies in fire near 45th and Center

MILWAUKEE -- Officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department on Sunday, May 8th returned to the area near 45th and Center, where an 18-month-old boy died in a fire on Thursday evening, May 5th.Firefighters handed out smoke detectors to those in need.MFD officials say the home that burned in the area on Thursday evening did not have working smoke detectors.Around 6:00 p.m. Thursday, the home burst into flames.Neighbors called 911 and tried to kick in the doors to help the occupants out.

One-and-a-half-year-old boy killed in fire at home near 45th and Center

Developing: Child struck by vehicle near N. 20th & Burleigh

MFD: No one hurt in fire at home near 55th and Custer in Milwaukee

Two escape house fire without injury on Milwaukee's west side

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee firefighters doused a fire at a house near 74th and Kearney early Sunday, March 27th.Officials say two people were inside the building, but they were able to get out before fire crews arrived and quickly contained the fire.The Red Cross is now helping the two people who lived inside the home.About $35,000 of damage was done to the house.
