Man dies in apparent drowning at Best Western on Howell near Mitchell Airport
MILWAUKEE -- A man died Tuesday, August 2nd in an apparent drowning at the Best Western Plus Milwaukee Airport Hotel & Conference Center on Howell near Edgerton in Milwaukee -- across the street from General Mitchell International Airport.

Officials with the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office were called out to the hotel.
FOX6 News is told hotel staff tried to save the man's life -- something firefighters said was critical, but unfortunately, the man did not survive.
He has been identified as 39-year-old Cory Versey of Milwaukee.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 3rd.
Firefighters with the Milwaukee Fire Department were called out to the hotel around 1:30 p.m. Officials worked on Versey for about 45 minutes. Prior to firefighters' arrival, hotel staff initiated CPR.

A guest at the hotel told FOX6 News he was staying in the room right next to Versey and heard a very emotional family.
"Their room is one down from ours, so we could hear them crying through the walls and I saw the police telling the wife that he did not make it," Toni Thor said.
Some hotel guests initially thought crews were on scene for a fire.
"The first thing I heard was the alarm go off and then I rushed the kids outside," Thor said.
They soon learned of a report of a drowning in the pool.
"Milwaukee Fire Department dispatchers received a telephone call indicating that an individual had drowned in the pool at the Best Western," MFD Deputy Chief Aaron Lipski said.
This story has a sad ending, despite the efforts of first responders and hotel staff.
"The folks from the Milwaukee Fire Department who were out there -- they more than earned my respect and gratitude for the work they did," Lipski said.
