Man dies at hospital after he was pulled from Mitchell Park lagoon

MILWAUKEE -- One person has died after they were pulled from the Mitchell Park lagoon.Milwaukee firefighters responded to the area just after 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 25th, where they say they found one person partially submerged in the water.

1 taken to hospital following crash near N. 76th and Calumet

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a crash that took place at the intersection of N. 76th Street and Calumet Road in Milwaukee Friday evening, September 23rd.The call to officials came in at approximately 5:23 p.m.It is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash, but according to the fire department, one person was transported to a hospital by a private ambulance.

Milwaukee police: 9-year-old boy accidentally shot by juvenile family member

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating what is believed to be an accidental shooting that happened inside a home near 20th and Hadley on Wednesday afternoon, September 21st.Officials say a nine-year old boy was shot by a juvenile family member shortly before 4:00 p.m. A source tells FOX6 News the juvenile family member is six years old.Family members at the scene told FOX6's Bret Lemoine the shooter is the half-brother of the victim.

Firefighters handling medical situation call in fire at garage near 61st and Villard

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee firefighters were on the scene of a garage fire Monday, September 19th near 61st and Villard.It happened around 10:30 a.m.The call for this fire came from an engine company on the scene of a medical call just down the street.No one was hurt.A damage estimate hasn't been released at this point.The cause of the fire is under investigation.

MFD: $5.8 million worth of damage done to Sherman Park businesses during unrest; "And that's a rough estimate"

MILWAUKEE -- Officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department say $5.8 million worth of damage was done to seven businesses during the unrest in the Sherman Park neighborhood on the heels of the fatal shooting of Sylville Smith by a Milwaukee police officer on August 13th."It's 5.8 million -- and that's a rough estimate," MFD Battalion Chief Aaron Lipski said.Lipski said that dollar amount includes both damage to structures and contents.

Milwaukee firefighters called out to conveyor belt fire at Veolia facility on Jones Street

MILWAUKEE -- Officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department on Wednesday afternoon, August 31st were called out to a fire at the Veolia facility on Jones Street near Lincoln Memorial Drive in Milwaukee.It happened around 3:00 p.m.Officials say the fire took place in an overheated conveyor belt motor, causing the conveyor belt to catch on fire.No one was hurt.PHOTO GALLERY
