J.J. Hartung a star on the ice and the gridiron for Greendale High School
GREENDALE (WITI) -- J.J. Hartung is a junior hockey player for Greendale High School. He says he interest in hockey began at a young age - with a push from his dad.
"My dad wanted to me to play hockey - and he took me (to a facility) because we lived just down the block - so then I just played hockey," Hartung said.
Hartung says hockey has allowed him to create lasting friendships with his fellow teammates.
"I have a couple friends on this team that we've been playing - we played (youth hockey) probably seven years back. We've been playing together for awhile," Hartung said.
Hartung also plays football, and says sports are a big part of his life.
"It's a busy schedule, but sports are a big part of me - in high school especially. I like it. I join sports, and I make a lot of good friends through it," Hartung said.
Hartung says his inspiration on the ice is Patrick Kane - a right wing/center for the Chicago Blackhawks.
"He's a good skater. He can stick handle good. I wish I could do that someday," Hartung said.
