Salvation Army is making sure a certain group of kids don't miss out on a gift from a loved one

MILWAUKEE -- The holiday season is fast approaching -- and sometimes we get so caught up in shopping for our own friends and family that we forget about the less fortunate. But the Salvation Army is making sure a certain group of kids don't miss out on a gift from a loved one. It's part of the Prison Toy Program.

You can donate toys, money, time -- really anything to the program. In fact, one local paper store really stepped up to the plate to help this year.

Online registration for volunteers NOW OPEN.

The Salvation Army donates approximately 5,000 gifts for children of incarcerated parents. Volunteers are needed for packing and shipping. We need volunteers to assist with the data entry and mailing process, toy wrap prep and The Big Wrap and The Big Ship. This program runs from October through mid-November.
