(WITI) -- In this week's Dining with Duria, Angelica shows us how to prepare french toast bake.

French Toast Bake

- 1 loaf of crusty French or Sourdough bread, cut into 1 inch cubes (day old bread is best!)
- 7 eggs
- 2 cups of milk
- 2/3 cup half & half
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt

For the topping:
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup flour
- 3 tbsp butter, sliced
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Maple syrup

- Cut bread into cubes. Please into a greased 9x13 baking/casserole dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk, half & half, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and salt. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and toss in pan. Cover and place in fridge for 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Uncover and give the bread another stir.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Cut butter into small pieces and fork blend butter into mixture until it resembles small crumbs. Sprinkle over the bread cubes.
- Bake for 45 minutes to an hour or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Bake time depends on how soft you like your French toast. Serve with maple syrup.
- NOTE: If you want, you can egg crumbled bacon pieces to your bread/egg mixture before baking!
