U.S. 45 ramp, 95th St. closed near Zoo Interchange

MILWAUKEE — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is making progress on the project to build a temporary exit ramp from US 45 to Wisconsin Avenue. However, the project has lead to some closures.

Starting October 1st, motorists are advised that the US 45 northbound exit ramp to Bluemound Road will close for approximately two weeks.

During the same time period, 95th Street between Bluemound Road and Wisconsin Avenue will close to construct a cul-du-sac.

95th Street will be available to local residents, with on-street parking restricted.

After the cul-du-sac is complete, through motorists will be unable to use 95th Street to travel to Wisconsin Avenue or use the northbound entrance ramp to US 45 long-term. For access to US 45 northbound, use 97th Street north to Wisconsin Avenue, east at Wisconsin Avenue to the entrance ramp on left.

Some short-term lane restrictions are planned for overnight on US 45 next week.

The temporary exit ramp at Wisconsin Avenue will provide reliable access to the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center and Wauwatosa during the Zoo Interchange reconstruction project. This new ramp is expected to open later this fall.
