Two teens arrested in connection with attempted armed robbery in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police arrested two teenagers and recovered the weapon they allegedly used in an attempted armed robbery on the city's northwest side.
Officers responded to the neighborhood near Hampton and Fond du Lac Avenues around 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3rd. That is where they met with the victim, a 42-year-old man. He told officers he was trying to open the door to a business when two suspects approached him, pointed a gun at him, and demanded his property. The victim was able to prevent the suspects from getting anything -- and the suspects fled on foot.
Officers located the suspects a short time later in the neighborhood near 73rd and Courtland -- and took them into custody.
Officials say police found a black BB gun believed to have been used in the crime near one of the suspects. The suspects arrested are a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy. Both have arrest records.
MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
