Two armed robbery suspects arrested, third sought after they were unable to operate manual transmission

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police arrested two armed robbery suspects and are seeking a third after the suspects were unable to operate the manual transmission in the vehicle they tried to steal.

Officers responded to the 300 block of E. Ogden Avenue around 3:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21st for a report of an armed robbery.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, told officers three suspects approached him in his vehicle and one was armed with a gun.

They demanded his money and two of the suspects began stealing items from the car, including a cell phone.

The third suspect tried to move the car but was unable to make it move since he couldn’t operate a manual transmission.

The suspects then fled on foot from the scene.

Two suspects, a 16-year-old male from Milwaukee and a 19-year-old man from Memphis, Tennessee, were taken into custody in the area.

MPD is still searching for a third suspect.

Officers found the stolen cell phone and the gun believed to be used in the crime near where the arrests occurred.

MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for charges in the coming days.
