Brenden’s Summer Organizing Tips For The SummerCreate a Potting Station: In your garage create a potting station. It will be great to use during the growing season, but even when the weather turns cold, the station will offer a place to prune houseplants, plant seeds, and stow bulbs. Get rid of the extra boxes: Boxes attract bugs and critters. Boxes also are a magnet for moisture and mold. Save only the ones that are absolutely necessary. Many people save more than they need to. Go Vertical: In your garage, use hooks to hold up items such as ladders, rakes, shovels and hoses. Items secured upright against the wall will create additional space for storing items such as the lawn mower and wheelbarrow. Do a major cleaning of your house: Go through all of your drawers, closets, etc. to make sure you know where everything is. Put like objects together in one area. This will make things less confusing when you are looking for something. Instead put items into separate containers based on what they do. Create a Car Trunk Organizer: Arrange supplies in a flexible bin or basket. Items kept in the car have a tendency to roll around and get lost beneath seats. Stock it with paper towels, a first-aid kit, auto fire extinguisher, duct tape, flat-repair kit, bungee cords, and other necessities. Get an extra laundry basket or large Tote: It can be used for clean beach towels, water toys and swimsuits. If you need to head to the beach, water park, river, lake or pool, the entire basket can go with you. Perhaps a Frisbee and radio will also make the experience positive.
