Three injured in crash in Walworth Co., driver arrested for OWI

WALWORTH COUNTY -- Walworth County Sheriff's officials say three people were injured in a two-car crash Monday night, October 1st.

Officials say the crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 14 and Six Corners Road in the Town of Walworth at 8:38 p.m.

Sheriff's officials say 70-year-old Bernard Benjamin of Des Plaines was headed northbound on Six Corners Road when he allegedly failed to yield the right of way after stopping at the stop sign.

Officials say Benjamin struck a truck headed westbound on Highway 14, driven by 47-year-old Cristy Nuvy of Janesville.

Benjamin, Benjamin's wife, Joann (65 years old) and Nuvy were all injured and taken to the hospital.

Benjamin was arrested, and charges of OWI and failing to yield have been referred to the Walworth County District Attorney's Office.
