Suspect wanted in two burglaries arrested with stolen items, second suspect sought

MILWAUKEE -- District Five officers from the Milwaukee Police Department arrested a suspect wanted in two burglaries after he fled from a crime scene pulling a suitcase filled with stolen items.

The officers responded to a business near Capitol Drive and Holton Street around 3:55 a.m. on March 6th for a burglar alarm. The caller who was monitoring the store’s security cameras told officers there were two subjects inside and they were placing merchandise inside luggage.

Officers searched the area and found one of the suspects pulling a large piece of luggage on wheels. The luggage had on it a tag from the business and inside there were numerous items stolen from the store.

The suspect, a 20-year-old Milwaukee man, was taken into custody and MPD continues to search for his accomplice.

It’s believed the pair also burglarized a nearby business in the 100 block of E. Capitol Drive.

MPD will present the case against the arrested suspect to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
