MILWAUKEE - The Support the Troops Ride and Memorial Ceremony took off from House of Harley-Davidson on Saturday morning, May 18.
Part of Milwaukee Armed Forces Week, the ride began at 10 a.m. with a police escort to the Harley-Davidson Museum that included a stop at the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center for a group photo.
"Much of the strength of our nation is reflected in the strength of our Armed Forces," Tom Plantenberg, president of the Milwaukee Armed Services Committee, said in a statement. "Our goal is to help the Milwaukee community move forward in celebrating the great men and women of our Armed Forces."

All motorcyclists were welcome to participate.
Milwaukee Armed Forces Week is a joint effort involving members of the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and National Guard – as well as citizens and veterans.
Organizers said its goal is to increase understanding of the military's role in society and honor those who serve.
