Superior Die Set Corporation celebrates 90 years in business

OAK CREEK (WITI) -- There were plenty of claps and cheers Thursday, September 12th, as people gathered at Superior Die Set Corporation in Oak Creek to celebrate 90 years in business.

"Just to watch and see what's happened to this company over those years has just been so warming to me that it's hard for me to describe it," said Casimir Janiszewski, the son of company's founder.

There was even more to celebrate as Thursday also marked Casimir Janiszewski's 90th birthday.

"My father founded the company the year I was born because he figured he had to find a way to support me when I get older," said Casimir Janiszewski.

Through the years, Superior Die Set Corporation has dramatically grown while providing jobs and investing millions throughout Wisconsin.

"There's a little over 200 employees here. We have a small subsidiary in Greendale with about 35 people, and then we have two plants in Poland," said Superior Die Set President Frank Janiszewski.

Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch attended the ceremony to show her gratitude for what the company has done for Wisconsin's economy.

"It's pretty wonderful to be able to sit here and thank the folks who own the hands that help craft the products that are changing the world," said Kleefisch.

Superior Die Set Corporation has been in the Janiszewski family for four generations and they say they have no plans to leave Wisconsin.

The founder of Superior Die Set Corporation, Kasimir Janiszewski, moved to the United States from Poland at the age of 23 with only $25 to his name.

It was Janiszewski's hard work and perseverance that created one of the nation's oldest family-owned and run corporations.
