Shoppers brave the cold for Thanksgiving Day bargains

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- While many people gathered around the dinner table for a Thanksgiving meal Thursday afternoon, others got in line outside Toys R' Us on S. 27th St. -- where shoppers were let in starting at 5 p.m.

Some bargain hunters began lining up as early at 6:30 this morning.

A lot of shoppers say they missed out on lunch with their families for a chance to score the lowest prices -- but believe the deals and atmosphere make it worth it.

"I love it. I know most people don't, but I love doing it and my kids get a whole bunch of gifts for a low price," said Julianne Locke.

Most shoppers say Toys R' Us was just the first stop on their list of stores to visit Thursday night. Best Buy, Kohl's and Target are a few of the other major retailers opening before Black Friday.
