Seven people taken to the hospital after crash involving five vehicles near 35th and Capitol
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police were on the scene of a crash involving a van that hit three parked, unoccupied vehicles and one occupied vehicle on Wednesday evening, September 9th. A total of seven people had to be taken to the hospital following the crash.
It happened near 35th and Capitol Drive around 7:00 p.m.
Police say a van was headed southbound on 35th Street, south of Capitol Drive when it tried to pass a vehicle, but lost control -- striking three parked, unoccupied vehicles and one occupied vehicle.
The van was occupied by six males from the Delafield area.
All six were taken to the hospital with injuries.
Police say the driver and a passenger (both 17 years old) had to be extricated, and they suffered the most serious injuries.
Additionally -- a female who was in the occupied vehicle that was hit was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
Everyone involved is expected to survive.
Police say the van was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash, and those inside the van indicated they were looking for the city's East Side.
