Salvation Army hosts Christmas party for those 55 and older

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Who says you have to wait until December 25th to celebrate Christmas?

Around 700 people got into the spirit on Wednesday, December 11th at the Salvation Army's Christmas party and luncheon.

It was a special luncheon for people 55 and up -- and it's not just about the meal.

"It's never just a sense of being fed. We want people to fed body, mind and soul and to feel that sense of loving and care and belonging," Stephen Yover with the Salvation Army said.

We're told one of the biggest needs the Salvation Army fills at this luncheon is the need for fellowship for those who are often alone during the holidays.
