Racine police block off streets near 16th and Morton

RACINE --There was a heavy police presence around 5:00 p.m. Tuesday in Racine, near 16th and Morton. FOX6's Henry Rosoff reported 12 to 15 squad cars were on the scene, blocking off the area near 16th and Morton and 16th and Austin. Police dispersed from the area shortly before 5:30 p.m. and the roads were reopened.

Some officers on the scene reportedly had their assault rifles drawn. One ambulance left the scene, and another arrived on the scene just after 5:00 p.m., but it is unclear at this time whether anyone was injured.

Neighbors in the area say police were chasing two men, one of whom ran into a home that was then surrounded by police.



Police have not yet released any official information.
