Public helps raise needed $3,000 to pay for dog's surgery

MILWAUKEE -- The Wisconsin Humane Society wants to thank everyone who helped pitch in to pay for surgery for a five-month-old Collie puppy. Chloe had a fractured pelvis and went to the orthopedic surgeon to have her surgery.

Chloe came to WHS Thursday night from the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission. She was originally brought there as a a stray puppy. Chloe has a severely fractured pelvis after being struck by a car.

Costs for her surgery and care were expected to reach $3,000. On Friday, a plea to the public raised the needed money.
Chloe will likely be in recovery for several weeks in a foster home.
