Police: Strong-armed robbery suspects arrested within minutes of committing crime

MILWAUKEE -- Officers from District Three of the Milwaukee Police Department quickly located and arrested two strong-armed robbery suspects just minutes after the crime happened.

The officers responded to the area of 16th and Clarke around 9:10 a.m. on January 23rd where the victim, a 41-year-old Milwaukee man, told them that his roommate and his roommate’s girlfriend, approached him, struck him several times, and stole his cell phone, backpack, and money.

The suspects then fled from the scene on foot.

Officers on patrol in the area located the man and the woman a short time later near 12th and Burleigh Street. The female suspect, an 18-year-old Milwaukee woman, had the victim’s backpack and the male suspect, a 21-year-old Milwaukee man, had the victim’s cell phone and money.

Both suspects were taken into custody and face charges of robbery. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
