Oshkosh woman gets prison in ex-boyfriend's heroin death

OSHKOSH — An Oshkosh woman accused of helping an ex-boyfriend get the heroin that killed him has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Oshkosh Northwestern Media (http://oshko.sh/1RPpDOh ) reports 29-year-old Lacy Russell was sentenced Monday. She had earlier pleaded no contest to a count of being party to a crime of delivering less than 3 grams of heroin as a subsequent offense. The charge was previously reduced from one count of first-degree reckless homicide by the delivery of drugs.

According to a criminal complaint, Russell set up and drove Ian Lichtwald to a meeting with a man Feb. 15, 2014, who sold him heroin that contributed to his death. Lichtwald was found dead by his sister about 9:15 p.m. the next day at their Oshkosh residence.

Russell apologized in court to Lichtwald's family members.
