Officials: Two men wounded in separate shootings in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred on Friday, evening July 3rd.

The first incident happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. near 12th and Lincoln on Milwaukee's south side. Police say during an argument over missing property, a 27-year-old Milwaukee man was shot when at least three individuals (including the victim) pulled out handguns and began to shoot at each other.

The victim suffered a serious injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police are seeking known subject in this incident.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m., Milwaukee police were called to the neighborhood near 22nd and Clarke on the city's north side. Officials say a 44-year-old man was walking southbound on N. 22nd St. when he was approached by a subject who demanded his property. The victim told police that as he began to run away he heard gun shots and realized he had been shot.

The victim indicated that he ran to a nearby residence where police and medical attention were summoned. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.
