New 'In Wisconsin' brand to be unveiled in Madison

MADISON (AP) -- A new ``In Wisconsin'' brand designed to help market products from the state is set to be unveiled.

Gov. Scott Walker planned to be at a Wednesday news conference to discuss the new slogan to be used by the quasi-private Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.

The brand has been under development for months. It is designed to build awareness among entrepreneurs and business leaders about the benefits of starting, growing or locating a business in Wisconsin.

Launching of the new marketing campaign comes at the same time that the head of WEDC is leaving the agency and the federal government is ordering new steps be taken to ensure economic development grants are properly awarded.

Creating the new economic development entity was one of Walker's top priorities last year.
