MPD officer on patrol able to arrest man for pointing, aiming a gun in downtown Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police say an alert officer was able to diffuse a potentially dangerous situation when the officer arrested a man for pointing and aiming a gun in downtown Milwaukee.

Police say the officer was on patrol in the 600 block of N. Milwaukee Street around 2:10 a.m. on Friday, August 7th, when he saw a man pull out a gun and point it across the street.

The suspect re-holstered the weapon -- and the officer approached, finding the suspect was holding a loaded handgun and marijuana.

The suspect admitted he had been drinking, and a breathalyzer test revealed his BAC was .13.

He faces several charges -- including possession of THC, endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, and disorderly conduct.

The case will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
