MPD arrests two robbery suspects following pursuit, crash
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee Police arrested two suspects believed responsible for several recent area robberies and auto thefts following a pursuit and crash Wednesday, April 2nd.
According to police, the suspects robbed and beat a 16-year-old boy in the 6100 block of W. Leon Terrace shortly after 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2nd.
Shortly after the incident, officers were able to locate the suspects driving a stolen vehicle in the area of 72nd and Fiebrantz.
The officers attempted to stop the suspects, but they fled the scene.
The officers pursued the suspects to the area of Highway 100 and Capitol, where the suspects disregarded a red traffic signal as they fled southbound, crashing into an eastbound Dodge Caravan.
The 15 and 16-year-old male suspects in the stolen car were arrested. The 16-year-old was conveyed to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, as were the 21-year-old female and 40-year-old male occupants of the minivan.
In addition to the recent robberies and auto thefts, these suspects are believed responsible for in Milwaukee, investigators are working with other neighboring jurisdictions, including Wauwatosa, to determine if the suspects are also connected to recent crimes in their communities.
