Milwaukee police: Two arrested after stealing car at gunpoint, fleeing from police

MILWAUKEE -- Two suspects were arrested by Milwaukee police after they stole a car at gunpoint and tried to flee from police.

District Five officers responded to the area of N. 4th and W. Vine around 7:25 p.m. on July 23rd for a report of an armed robbery.

The victim, a 25-year-old Milwaukee man, told officers that while walking to his home he was approached by two suspects. One of the suspects pulled a gun and pointed it at the victim, while demanding his car keys.

The victim complied and the two suspects got into his 2015 Ford Fusion and fled from the scene.

The stolen car was spotted a short time later and officers began to pursue it after it failed to stop.

Both suspects got out of the vehicle in the 1100 block of W. Clarke Street and ran away. They were quickly taken into custody and two BB guns were found inside the car.

The suspects are both 19-year-old males. MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for charging in the coming days.
