Milwaukee police prevent attempted armed robbery near 29th & Wisconsin Avenue
MILWAUKEE -- Officers from District Three of the Milwaukee Police Department were in the right place at the right time as they prevented a convicted felon from potentially committing a robbery.
The officers were on patrol in the area of 29th Street and Wisconsin Avenue around 10:25 p.m. on July 2nd when they were flagged down. A 45-year-old Milwaukee man told officers the suspect pointed a gun at him and demanded his belongings.
The suspect was walking away from the scene and officers were able to take him into custody.
The officers also found a loaded semi-automatic gun next to the suspect. The suspect, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man, is a convicted felon and has a criminal record dating back to 2008.
MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
