Milwaukee police investigate homicide at 52nd & Locust

MILWAUKEE -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting at 52nd and Locust on Milwaukee's north side on Friday, October 26th.

Milwaukee police say the victim is a 33-year-old man. He was shot around 2:30 a.m. but it appears police were not called to the scene until several hours later.

Their investigation focused on a back alley and a garage between 51st and 52nd Streets. The alley was blocked off with crime scene tape.

One woman tells FOX6 News the victim was her next door neighbor.

"I've been living there for like 12 years and all I know is they just came here not too long ago, I wanna say a year ago. Nice couple," said Caronda Davis.

Davis says her mother was home Friday afternoon when police arrived on the scene. She says her mother heard the shots fired around 2:30 in the morning,

"All I know is she said something like, "the police found him this afternoon," said Davis.

Another neighbor says police knocked on her door Friday afternoon, asking if she heard any gunshots around 2:30 to 3:00 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing. No one has been arrested at this time.
