MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) on Sunday, October 4th played host to the Milwaukee Empty Bowls event.

The goal of the fundraiser is to raise awareness about hunger through ceramic and culinary arts -- and provide resources for local agencies addressing food insecurities.
Local chefs prepared soup for the fundraiser, and local musicians provided entertainment for the afternoon.
Guests could choose from more than 2,000 ceramic bowls, hand-crafted and donated by local artists, students and teachers.
Those attending left with much more than a new bowl.
"So the bowls that people leave with at the end of the day serve as a reminder that somebody's bowl is always empty in our community," Ramie Camarena said.
Since its founding in 1999, Milwaukee Empty Bowls has sold around 25,000 bowls and has donated almost $600,000 to help feed those in need.
