Messmer teacher suspended for alleged sexual assault of student

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee Police are investigating the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old Milwaukee boy that happened at approximately 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23rd in a car parked in the parking lot of Destiny High School.

The suspect is a 28-year-old female teacher at Messmer High School. The victim is a student at Messmer. Neither are associated with Destiny High School and were there for a special event.

"It's just unbelievable that a grown woman would do that with a child," said Jacalyn Clark, whose grandson is also a student at Messmer.

Messmer issued a statement that read, in part:

"We, at Messmer High school, are disturbed to learn about an alleged incident that occurred recently involving a Messmer High School teacher and a student. The teacher has been suspended, pending the Milwaukee Police investigation."

The suspect is in police custody at a local medical facility where she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries after a suicide attempt at the scene.

She will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for possible charges in the coming days.
