Medical examiner issues report after young woman killed when light pole fell on her after crash
MILWAUKEE -- Officials with the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office have identified a woman killed in a crash that happened near 51st and Auer on Sunday, October 9th.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Savanna Scott of Milwaukee. Her death has been ruled an accident, as a result of multiple blunt force injuries.
According to the medical examiner's report, Scott was found unresponsive by strangers under a light pole near the scene of a crash involving two vehicles near 51st and Auer.
Officials say around midnight, a car headed east on W. Auer Ave failed to stop for a stop sign at N. 51st St. That car collided with a another vehicle driven by a 58-year-old woman from Milwaukee.
During the collision, Scott was ejected from the first car and landed in the grass next to the road. The first car then collided with a concrete light pole that fell on Scott, who died at the scene despite life-saving efforts.
The other occupants of the first car fled the scene on foot. Police say a 22-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were taken into custody after seeking medical treatment.
The female driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for medical care.
