Man skydives from space! Breaks world record

(WITI) -- A Google executive is making headlines, it has nothing to do with the company. He skydived from the edge of space!

Alan Eustace went all the way up to the edge of the stratosphere using a helium filled balloon.

Eustace then flew nearly 140,000 feet in about 15 minutes. On the way down, he traveled at about 820 miles per hour, breaking the sound barrier.

It set a new world record for highest altitude jump.

The jump took about 3 years of planning, developing and training.
