Man in custody after explosives found in Germantown home

GERMANTOWN (WITI) -- Germantown police said on Tuesday night, April 30th a 33-year-old man was taken into custody after he was arrested at a home he shares with his grandmother.

This, after officials received a tip Tuesday afternoon regarding potential explosives inside the home in the Autum Ridge Subdivision near County Road Q and Amber Drive.

Police will not say what type of explosive devices are in the home, or how they were tipped off to them, but they say it was safer to wait until daylight to start removing them from the home.

Police say they will surround the home through the night Tuesday.

Crews from the ATF and local bomb disposal units will begin to remove the explosives on Wednesday morning.
