Man arrested after threatening to blow up courthouse

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County Sheriff deputies arrested a man Wednesday after he threatened to blow up the county courthouse.

The deputies responded to the call around 8 a.m. Wednesday. But the 48-year-old man left the building before the deputies could find him. They later caught up to him near 12th and Wisconsin Ave. around 11:30 a.m.

The man has a criminal history with multiple arrests for disorderly conduct and bomb scares. He also has a conviction for second-degree sexual assault of a child.
The sheriff's office is seeking a felony bomb scare charge. It carries a penalty of up to three years and six months in prison.
