Madison campaign volunteer recants story about being attacked

MADISON -- A campaign volunteer in Madison is now recanting his story about being attacked.

Madison police were investigating an attack on 29-year-old Kyle Wood, a volunteer for Chad Lee's Second District Congressional campaign. Wood reported he was attacked in his home Wednesday, October 24th.

He was taken to a hospital and later released.

On Monday, October 29th, an amended police report was filed.

Wood originally told a conservative website he was attacked because of his sexual orientation -- saying he's a gay man working to elect a Republican.

The Lee campaign released the following statement after the attack: "We condemn this vicious attack on a member of our team in the strongest terms. We hope the perpetrator responsible for this attack will be brought to justice immediately."
