John Doe suspect Kevin Kavanaugh failed to appear in court

MILWAUKEE -- Kevin Kavanaugh, one of the suspects involved in the on-going John Doe investigation, failed to appear in court Monday morning.  Officials say the defendant missed his scheduled court appearance because he is currently hospitalized.

After Kavanuagh failed to appear in court, the court ordered a bench warrant until April 18, 2012. The court informed the parties if the matter is not resolved by the next scheduled court date, a trial will be scheduled.

Kavanaugh was the former Milwaukee County official appointed by Governor Walker while he was county executive. Kavanaugh is accused of taking $42,000 from Operation Freedom, and faces multiple theft and fraud charges.
