"It's crazy:" Man accused in hit-and-run that left 10-year-old in coma pleads not guilty
Marcus Wade
MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee man charged in a hit-and-run that put a 10-year-old in a coma, was in court on Thursday, September 7th for his preliminary hearing.
Family members of Clashon Beamon said Thursday the 10-year-old had woken from the two-week-long coma.
"Now he's talking and trying to walk a little bit," said CJ, the boy's father.

The boy's father said his son is in therapy at Children's Hospital and working hard to regain muscle memory after surgeons removed a large portion of his skull to reduce brain swelling.
"Watching my son go through this, it's crazy," said CJ.
Clashon is one of four people hurt in the crash on August 19th, near Fond du Lac and Armitage Avenue in Milwaukee.

"I'm here to support my son. Make sure he get his justice," CJ said.
CJ said he's now turning to his faith to guide him through this difficult time.
"Just God put your hands over him and heal him. Have him have a fast, safe, quick recovery," CJ said.
He's praying that his family's pain reminds others to slow down.
"Take ya'll time. Because ya'll are putting other people's lives in danger," said CJ.
The three other people in the Nissan were all expected to be OK after the crash.
Wade's father was also in court Thursday, but he declined to comment on the case. Wade is due back in court on September 20th.
