Homeowner helps Milwaukee police arrest burglary suspect

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police, along with the help of an alert homeowner, arrested a burglary suspect who is also a convicted felon.

Officers from District 7 were dispatched to the 7800 block of W. Beckett Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. on September 22.

The caller told police he was driving in his alley and noticed a suspect acting suspiciously by his garage.

He also saw that a wood panel on the garage had damage to it.

When officers arrived, they saw a suspect matching the description and chased him on foot.

The suspect, a 39-year-old Milwaukee man, was taken into custody in the 4400 block of N. 73rd Street.

He has a lengthy criminal record dating back to 1994 with five felony convictions, including his most recent one for burglary in 2012.

Milwaukee Police will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days
