Full freeway closure to impact May 18th concert at Miller Park

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced a full freeway closure of I-94 North-South - from 27th Street to College Avenue - which will take place from Friday evening, May 17 through Sunday morning, May 19.

The scheduled closure will run through the Saturday, May 18 “Corona Light presents Kenny Chesney’s No Shoes Nation” concert at Miller Park.

To better assist those attending the show, attached is an update which includes a map and detour routes. The posted northbound detour route has traffic exiting at 27th Street and continuing north to College Avenue to I-94 WEST (NB).

Two additional alternate routes that may be helpful follow:
Alternate 1: Exit I-94 WEST (NB) at 27th Street. Continue (north) on 27th Street to Lincoln Avenue. Turn left (west) on Lincoln Avenue followed by a right (north) onto 43rd Street/Miller Park Way.

Alternate 2: Exit I-94 WEST (NB) at 27th Street. Continue (north) on 27th Street to I-894 WEST. Continue (west) on I-894 WEST to I-894 NORTH. Continue (north) on I-894 NORTH to I-94 EAST and follow to Miller Park.

Concert attendees who travel along I-94 East (Northbound) through Kenosha and Racine counties should plan ahead and allow extra time for traveling. For additional information, please visit the project website at www.plan94.org

The parking lots at Miller Park will open at 1 pm and gates to the ballpark at 4 pm. The concert is scheduled to start at 5 pm.
