MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- This winter has been a mess and our clothes prove it. Much of the salt spread across streets and sidewalks ends up on us -- and dry cleaners are cashing in, making big bucks working over time.
Co-owner of Wolf Dry Cleaning, Todd Sneed, says they have been slammed with business throughout February thanks to the sloppy weather. The company is currently turning out 5,500 to 7,500 garments a week.
"We've got a lot of salt stains on our slacks, on the bottom of the pants. They come in, literally, as hard as a rock from all the salt and everything," Sneed said.
Dry cleaner David Watson has been in the business for 43 years and says he appreciates a good pair of slacks.
"I've been pressing pants since I was knee-high to a duck," said Watson. "I like to see my customers with their clothes pressed, with my work on them."
Watson says he feels good knowing he's helping others look good.
Wolf cleaners purchased additional drums of salt treatment due to the amount of salt stained clothing coming in.
