Donald Trump interrupted by protesters in West Allis; one arrested during event at UWM

MILWAUKEE -- Donald Trump is predicting big success on Tuesday, April 5th in Wisconsin -- despite a series of controversies since he stepped foot in the Badger State. Trump was in West Allis Sunday evening, April 3rd for a town hall event at Nathan Hale High School.

"Jump Around" played inside Nathan Hale High School -- as Trump channeled a Wisconsin favorite -- changing his music, and his message -- pivoting hard to attack Ted Cruz, who is leading in Wisconsin, according to the latest Marquette University Law School poll, released on March 30th.

The poll found Ted Cruz supported by 40 percent of likely voters to 30 percent for Donald Trump and 21 percent for John Kasich, while 8 percent don’t know whom they will support.

Among likely voters in the Wisconsin Democratic primary, Bernie Sanders holds a 49 percent to 45 percent edge over Hillary Clinton, with 6 percent undecided.

"He`s a cheater. He`s a cheater. He`s a dirty, rotten cheat. Remember that," Trump said of Cruz in West Allis.

All three of Trump's events in Wisconsin on Saturday, April 2nd went off without any interruption from protesters. The same couldn't be said on Sunday.

There were protesters outside the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Mainstage Theatre, where Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was set to host a Fox News Channel town hall event scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on campus. Fox News Anchor Greta Van Susteren moderated the event.

Tom Luljak with UWM tells FOX6 News one person was arrested during the protest ahead of the Trump event on campus. That person was arrested for disorderly conduct and ticketed. Luljak said the arrest happened when the individual tried to go through police into the security area.

In West Allis, there were multiple protesters who had to be escorted from Nathan Hale High School due to interruptions. One man shouted: "The people of West Allis reject you."

"Isn`t it fun to be at a Trump rally? Isn`t this great? Honestly, they`re lost. Kids like that are lost," Trump said.

Trump told the crowd of about 1,000 in West Allis that his wife wants him to be more presidential. Trump said he has to get the GOP nomination first.

"We don`t win ever. Ever. Because we have stupid people like Obama who don`t know what the hell they`re doing, and guys like like Cruz that are being totally taken care of by his PACS," Trump said.

On Sunday morning, at Miss Katie's Diner in Milwaukee, before his event at UWM, Trump said fellow GOP presidential candidate John Kasich should drop out of the race.

Heidi Cruz

Trump has faced a firestorm of criticism for going after GOP presidential rival Ted Cruz's wife Heidi.

Then, Trump's campaign manager was arrested and charged for simple battery -- in connection with a March 8th incident involving a former Breitbard News reporter at an event in Florida. Surveillance video appears to show Corey Lewandowski grabbing Michelle Fields.

Trump has also faced backlash for taking three positions on abortion over a four-day period.

On Sunday, he was again on the offensive -- saying Kasich will take votes away from him in Wisconsin.

John Kasich

"Kasich shouldn't be allowed to run. Honestly, Kasich shouldn't be allowed to run. And, I'll go opposite on you. He hurts Trump much more than he hurts Cruz," Trump said.

Kasich is mathematically eliminated from getting to the magic number of delegates nationwide. His focus all along has been trying to win the nomination at a contested convention.

Kasich's campaign, responding to Trump, said Kasich isn't dropping out.
