County vehicle belonging to District Attorney John Chisholm found with shattered rear window

BAY VIEW -- St. Francis police say a vehicle belonging to Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm was vandalized early Monday morning, July 13th.

Minutes before 3:00 a.m., an officer was driving in the 3300 block of Illinois Avenue in Bay View and noticed five suspicious males walking on the sidewalk. Then, the officer noticed a Chevy Tahoe with a shattered rear window.

Investigators discovered the vehicle belonged to Chisholm. The vehicle was parked on the street when this happened. We're told the vehicle is a Milwaukee County vehicle.

We're told the damage to the Tahoe appeared fresh. There was glass on the ground, and a piece of concrete was observed next to vehicle.

As the St. Francis police officer turned to attempt to talk with the males spotted in the area, police say three of them fled on foot, while two stayed on scene.

Milwaukee police responded to the scene, and this investigation was turned over to MPD.

We're told the Chevy Tahoe was not likely targeted, and that this was a random attack.
